Numerous decisions regarding patient status and treatment are based wholly or in part
on joint motion measurements. It is commonly used to determine the extent of limited
range of motion in order to help properly diagnose the patient’s disorder as well as to
          determine the efficacy of treatment.

Limited range of motion can result from: mechanical problems, muscle spasticity, joint pain, inflammation, swelling, infection, injury, and disease.
